When Secret approached Vox about creating a series about personal finance, the producers got together to make a list of concepts *we* wish we understood better. At the top of the list: credit scores. How exactly are they calculated? Why are they such a pivotal part of American financial life? Who benefits from our current system, and who gets left out?
Researching, writing, and storyboarding this video really opened my eyes to both the untold history of our financial system and to the power of explanatory video as a tool for bringing invisible systems to life.
